Shahid Khaqan Abbasi urges the Pakistan government to raise voices for the  rights of the Palestinian people

Palestine Foundation Pakistan organized a full and effective Palestine Solidarity Conference to express solidarity with the Palestinian people at a local hotel in Islamabad. Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, former Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan, Secretary General Palestine Foundation Pakistan Dr Sabir Abu Maryam, renowned anchorperson Harmeet Singh, youth leader Shaheer Haider Sialvi, Hurriyat leader Dr Syed Mujahid Gilani, social activist Razi Tahir, senior journalist Nadir Baloch and Professor Shozab Askari were among the speakers.

All the speakers unitedly declared their full support for the Palestinian people’s freedom struggle and reiterated their commitment to continue all possible support for the oppressed Palestinians. The conference began with a recitation of the Holy Quran, after which the speakers in their speeches strongly condemned the atrocities in Gaza, the genocide of the Palestinian people, and the atrocities committed against them during the holy month of Ramadan.

Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in his address emphasized that the criminal silence of the international community and the inaction of the Muslim Ummah is not only regrettable but also a blot on the name of humanity. Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam demanded that al-Quds Day should be celebrated at the state level on the occasion of Jumma-e-Vida and the Government of Pakistan should raise the voice for the rights of the Palestinian people at the international level. PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan said that the silence and inaction shown by the Muslim Ummah last year is not only sad but also a historical tragedy. Pakistan’s role in this apathy is also questionable. Are we ready to face this reality?

Dr. Syed Mujahid Gilani said that the people of Palestine and Kashmir are fighting for their freedom and the path on which Hamas is walking is the path of freedom. Razi Tahir said that we should wake up from negligence understand our human and collective duty and talk about Palestine at every forum, anchor person Harmeet Singh said that the people of Gaza all over the world are with the people of Gaza, the tragedy of Gaza is the tragedy of humanity and every person whose heart beats in him rejects the illegitimate state of Israel and its domination. On this occasion, the participants also passed a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, ensuring humanitarian aid, and restoring the basic rights of the Palestinian people.

The speakers strongly condemned the ongoing US and British aggression in Yemen and called upon the Muslim Ummah to raise its voice not only in favor of Palestine but also in favor of the oppressed people of Yemen and play an immediate role in a ceasefire. Journalists, activists, civil society representatives, and teachers from various educational institutions who attended the conference described solidarity with the Palestinian people as the need of the hour and called on the international community to take notice of the atrocities committed on the Palestinian people and stop Israel from human rights violations. At the end of the conference, prayers were offered for the martyrs of Palestine and it was reiterated that the people of Pakistan will always stand with the oppressed.
