Saudi Arabia expands digital services for Umrah pilgrims
There has been an unprecedented increase in the number of pilgrims to The Holy Shrine during Ramadan.
Saudi Arabia has increased digital services for Umrah pilgrims. According to the kingdom’s official news agency, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has increased the support of government agencies for digital services provided to Umrah pilgrims during Ramadan. There has been an unprecedented increase in the number of pilgrims in Harmeen Sharifeen.
It has been informed that the authority has deployed a technical team with the relevant authorities at all the entry points of Saudi Arabia, which is working round the clock, the team deployed to maintain the continuity of services for Umrah pilgrims and to avoid any interruption, the team deployed maintains basic and alternative communication systems. In collaboration with the General Security Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, the ‘Basir’ platform has been launched for significant progress under the state-of-the-art system.
It has also been learned that the modern computer vision system monitors the movement of pilgrims to the Masjid al-Haram using Artificial Intelligence (AI), through this system, crowd tracking, tracking movement, and finding missing people, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority has said to improve services in the Masjid al-Haram and the Prophet’s Mosque. The Interior Ministry has also established a strategic partnership with the Special Forces of Hajj and Umrah Security. It is being told that the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority in collaboration with the Civil Aviation Authority and the Ministry of Interior has installed 70 modern electronic entrances connected to AI at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. Better service delivery has been ensured.
