The Department of Agriculture (Plant Protection) has directed tomato farmers to take immediate steps to protect the crop from pests in order to get better production of tomatoes so that they do not face any problems or financial difficulty in the event of subsequent crop damage. Director of Pest Warning and Quality Control of Pesticides Department of Agriculture (PP), Sialkot, Dr. Maqsood Ahmed told APP that with the change of weather, the tomato crop can be attacked by harmful pests and these harmful insects can attack the tomato crop at any time in all the stages from growing to fruit ripening and can cause severe damage to tomato plants and fruits. He said that the sundae of chalked cuts the growing plants from near the surface of the ground at night and hides near the plants during the day. He said that in order to reduce the loss of locusts, the caterpillars should be found and destroyed from the ground near the freshly cut plants.
