More than 500 saplings were planted at Sargodha University under the “Plant for Pakistan” drive of the Punjab government. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaiser Abbas inaugurated the program while planting saplings and said that the Plant for Pakistan campaign is an important initiative of the Government of Punjab, which aims to promote forestry in the country, increase environmental awareness, and provide an opportunity to record and share tree plantation activities. Under 520 saplings will be planted in different varieties of pomegranate, peach, plum, guava, apricot, lemon, kannu, dharik, bacca, loquat, pear, and others in the university. It may be mentioned here that the plantation has also been geo-tagged and uploaded on the ‘Plant for Pakistan’ portal.
